FRANCHISING FAQS

Franchising FAQs

Q. What is the next step in owning a Rollerz™?

A. Simply complete and submit the application and return it to us via email, fax or U.S. mail. Upon receipt and review, we will contact you.

Q. What are the financial requirements associated with this franchise opportunity?

A. To purchase a Rollerz franchise, you will need a net worth of $250,000, and the required liquid capital of $100,000.

Q. Will you help me secure financing?

A. Though we do not offer financing, we have a broad list of recommended lenders we can share with candidates.

Q. How do I find premier locations?

A. With help from a member of our real estate team, an authorized broker or your designated regional representative, we provide assistance in finding and selecting a great location for your store. You may elect to hire Kahala to do all the foundational work including researching local market studies, identifying a location and negotiating the lease, but ultimately you will sign the lease for your store.

Q. Is there a continuing royalty fee?

A. The continuing royalty fee is 6%** of gross sales, excluding sales tax.

**400/weekly minimum may apply to traditional locations.

Q. Is there an advertising fee?

A. The advertising fee is up to 4% of gross sales for traditional locations. Fees go to Brand Building and Local Marketing. Your Rollerz representative will be able to provide additional information.

Q. How long will it take to open my restaurant?

A. We hesitate to give time frames due to the number of variables that exist. On average, it could take four to eight months from the time you begin your journey until the day you open your doors.

Q. Do I receive training?

A. We offer a comprehensive training program that delivers all the tools you need to efficiently operate your restaurant. During opening week, you will receive up to 40 hours of in-store training which outlines the operational systems used in a Rollerz restaurant. Additionally, you will be issued your operations manual and toolkit. Prior to opening, you will spend five days at the Kahala Training & Education Center (KTEC) in Scottsdale, Ariz. Topics covered at KTEC include coaching, customer service, training, business information, marketing, crisis management, profitability and more. To complete your formal training, your designated Rollerz representative will provide on-site support for your grand opening to make sure that you have been given the proper tools.

Q. What type of support will I receive?

A. A vice president of operations is at the heart of each brand and they are equipped with a passionate team of sales, marketing and operations talent to support the brand and its franchisees.

You will also have a designated regional representative available to support you and answer questions along the way. They will be your day-to-day contact throughout the process of opening your store, and they will continue to support you as you grow your business. This representative is located in your region so they know you, your store and your business opportunities.

Q. Can I open more than one store/brand?

A. Yes. We encourage qualified franchisees to open multiple locations and explore unique co-branding opportunities with other Kahala brands where opportunities are available.

Q. How much money can I earn each year?

A. We do not make any representations about a franchisee's future financial performance or the past financial performance of Rollerz franchised outlets. We also do not authorize our employees or representatives to make any such representations either orally or in writing. However, we agree it is a critical question for you to have answered. We invite you to speak with our franchisees to learn about their sales.
